iPhone 404 not found

Postby franklintech » Mon Aug 08, 2011 6:38 pm

Hi Guys

I have Bria Counterpath on my android phone and it connects to my asterisk based pbx and works well, I have not had to add a dial plan etc, just sip account details which is great.

I have a customer who also has a asterisk based pbx and has an iphone. We bought the iphone version installed and registered it which works well, it recieves calls and can call internal extensions. When trying to call outbound numbers it gives an error "404 not found" almost instantly.

Any Ideas? I have searched a bit but only found unrelated fixes.

Thanks

How many accounts you have?
Perhaps you make a call to another account where the number is not valid.
Did you use History to make the call? History item is associated with account it was originally executed on.
But for sure the problem is that the number you use is not valid in the context of the used account.

How many accounts you have? - If you are referring to sip provider accounts, then just one
Perhaps you make a call to another account where the number is not valid. - no the number is valid I can dial it from other extensions connected to the same PBX
Did you use History to make the call? History item is associated with account it was originally executed on.no i manually dialed
But for sure the problem is that the number you use is not valid in the context of the used account. yes, obviously otherwise I would not be posting here

I have a feeling the issue is related to dialing rules. Can anyone give me an example of a dial plan for New Zealand?

Well, dialplan acts as a shortcut for number entering.

You can't create one without knowing how looks "valid" number for your SIP server.

Thanks for that pearl of wisdom, I am still no closer to getting this sorted.

Have just installed this on android phone and get the same 404 not authorized error.

I can receive inbound calls, can receive internal calls between extensions but cannot call out.

I would like an answer rather than a comment that offers no technical help.

Just my suggestion to verify your dialing rules...

In Bria iPhone Edition (Version 1.3.1):

1.
Press Settings > Preferences > Phone Number, Single Touch To Call = OFF.
This enables an additional dialog.

2.
Press Phone. Input the number. Press the green Call button.
What happens?

3.
Press History. Press Out.
Press the first entry below Outgoing Calls (do not press arrow in circle).
A dialog will pop up, showing "Call outbound number".
Is the correct outbound number shown?

If the dialog shows a wrong outbound number, I would suggest to go here:

In that topic you mention an example of:
-the number you touch
-the outbound number that you require
-your dial plan

Thanks for the reply

On the same network we have a couple of users running X-Lite which dials out perfectly with the default dial plan which is "#1\a\a.T;match=1;prestrip=2;"

On the android and iphone editons there is no default dial plan, can you advise how I am to insert this dial plan into the match number, remove prefix and add prefix fields in the iphone/android config ?

Cheers!
