Bria doesn't offer PCMU/A G.711 in SDP

Postby general lee » Sun Nov 15, 2009 6:13 pm

Hi,

I need Bria to offer G.711 in its SDP. I tested using Bria to Bria, Xlite to Bria and Xlite to Xlite with G711uLaw and G711aLaw enabled, also all codecs enabled and couldn't get G.711 to be offered in the SDP. I also tried changing my bandwidth settings using different high internet connection speeds.

I would appreciate if someone could either explain why G.711 is not being offered and point me in the right direction to gettting it fixed?

Thanks,

G.711 is a "well known" codec and normally is not sent as a separate a line.
Is the RTPMAP listed in the media description line?

Thanks Derek,

I looked at the RFC and it states below that the SDP format that Bria specified below is correct:

m=audio 24744 RTP/AVP 0 8 101.
a=sendrecv.
a=rtpmap:101 telephone-event/8000.
a=fmtp:101 0-15.
