X-Lite 5 starts then crashes Mac OSX 10.6.8

Made the forced upgrade today. The new version gets as far as showing the dialpad and then disappears and is therefore unusable.

I've tried trashing the old X-Lite prefs in User/Library/CounterPath but that hasn't helped. I couldn't find any log files in the X-Lite 5 folder to post them.

Any suggestions?

Just to make sure, did you delete all the preference listed here?
~/Library/Preferences/com.CounterPath.X_Lite_4.plist (General settings of version 4)
~/Library/Preferences/com.CounterPath.X_Lite.plist (General settings of version 5)
~/Library/Preferences/Counterpath Corporation/X-Lite 4 (Settings, history, etc. of version 4)
~/Library/Preferences/Counterpath Corporation/X-Lite (Settings, history, etc. of version 5)

I've got the same problem like Mintcupcakes - I'm also using 10.6.8.

By deleting the old preferences I can make X-Lite 5 run, but then I lost all my (backed up) contacts and settings. AFAK there's no chance to import these files by X-Lite 5. It is really important to me to keep the old contacts - Any idea how to solve this problem? Is this problem really connected to OS 10.6.8?

If you have backed up X-Lite 4 preferences, you can copy the contacts.db from ~/Library/Preferences/CounterPath Corporation/X-Lite 4/default_user to ~/Library/Preferences/CounterPath Corporation/X-Lite/default_user and should be able to restore your contacts.

If I do as you advised X-Lite 5 is crashing.
