X-Lite 5 Crashes on OSX 10.7.4 after enforced upgrade

It couldn't find a way to avoid upgrading to 5. X-Lite 4 displays a simple message "upgrade or quit".
X-Lite 5 crashes at startup.
So, from a working 4.0 to nothing in 5seconds.
Does free means no service?
I was very happy with X-Lite 4...but no way back.

Any hints?

Yes it does. A small workaround is to throw away v.5, restart v.4 and when you are prompt to download and install v.5 again start downloading and immediately cancel the download. Then you have some time without the update until next prompt to update.

I had the same problem upgrading from version 4 to 5 on Mac OS X 10.6. Here's what I did what seems to work so far.

Deleted the following in user home directory:
~/Library/Preferences/com.CounterPath.X_Lite_4.plist (General settings of version 4)
~/Library/Preferences/com.CounterPath.X_Lite.plist (General settings of version 5)
~/Library/Preferences/Counterpath Corporation/X-Lite 4 (Settings, history, etc. of version 4)
~/Library/Preferences/Counterpath Corporation/X-Lite (Settings, history, etc. of version 5)

This will however remove all settings, contacts, call lists, etc. I believe. So best to make a backup of those files.

Same crash here, ridiculous (...well for free).

haeygen -- thanks for the pointers! Starts now.

However, after managed to start and reconfigure it, it crashes on first dialed or received phone call; yet again, ridiculous.

X-Lite 4, after a week avoiding the forced upgrade, removing 5 sometimes to continue working with X-Lite 4, today it says "Your X Lite 4 copy has EXPIRED" and shuts down...
All lost! X Lite 5 crashes on start on my 10.7.4 & 10.8 Mac and 4 does not even start.
